Grant awarded to Overtone to enhance the HUMAN Job Launcher

We are thrilled to announce the partnership between HUMAN Protocol and Overtone. This grant provided by HUMAN Protocol aims to introduce innovative improvements to the Job Launcher, enhancing its capabilities by including generative model outputs that will be reviewed by annotators. These updates are part of our ongoing efforts to improve our products, and provide more options to our distributed contributor communities.

Overtone specializes in analyzing content of news articles, looking at the actual text to understand its quality and purpose. This helps to sort and categorize articles more effectively. With the grant from HUMAN Protocol, Overtone will introduce new tasks to the Job Launcher by inputting the API endpoint of a generative model, to produce tasks in which annotators review and validate the outputs produced by these models.

The purpose behind this partnership is to increase the functionalities of the Job Launcher by adding more jobs, which will benefit the entire HUMAN ecosystem. For Overtone, integrating with HUMAN Protocol allows them to validate the outputs of their AI models and metrics more effectively, utilizing HUMAN's workforce for evaluation. 

The integration will be carried out through the Job Launcher's web API, where jobs will be launched, and workers will pick up these jobs via the HUMAN App, where annotators will review the model outputs and assign appropriate labels (e.g., "politically left-leaning"). This process will ensure that the generative model outputs are thoroughly checked for quality and alignment with specified metrics.

The partnership between HUMAN Protocol and Overtone is intended to bring improvements to the Job Launcher. By introducing new work that facilitates the review of generative model outputs, we are enhancing our platform’s versatility and capability to handle content-evaluation tasks. This integration will help meet the needs of our community by extending the types of work available, and add to the Protocol’s growing network activity.
