The HUMAN App now supports Polygon network

2 min read

The beta version of the HUMAN App is designed to demonstrate the potential of HUMAN Protocol, what it can do, and what others could do through it to unlock the next generation of knowledge workers. The app is open-source, enabling developers to build APIs or other web applications to register and reward any kind of contribution.

The withdrawal process is already underway on the app, meaning anyone with a verified account can withdraw the HMT they have earned.

HUMAN Protocol covers the cost of withdrawal, meaning those who label data can keep the full value of the rewards of their work without losing out to high gas fees.

However, recently, there have been very high gas fees on Ethereum, and low speeds due to congestion.

“Our work with Polygon will really improve the user experience of withdrawing funds from the HUMAN App. It’s a great network that has given us a way to solve the problem of gas fees, quickly, without losing valuable time. Polygon’s proposition is essential, but as we have stated, it is not a case of winner takes all. It is by leveraging multiple blockchains that we get the best result, and we remain dedicated to building out the technology to support a truly interoperable blockchain ecosystem,” Haryjot Singh, Technology Director at HUMAN Protocol Foundation

The advantages of Polygon network

Polygon network is an Ethereum sidechain that allows ERC-20 built blockchains an effective solution to scale, at speed, by offering seamless integration and deployment.

The full list of benefits include:

  • ERC-20 compatible means a DApp could be scaled in minutes
  • User experience. Speed via scalable consensus algorithms and lower gas fees mean that the Polygon network offers almost “zero-gas” transactions with deterministic transaction finality
  • Interoperability with other blockchains
  • Leverages the safety of the overall Ethereum network
  • Simplicity for developers. We want the app to be built on top of. Working with a sidechain like Polygon allows customizable tech stacks, and simplicity as no protocol-level knowledge is required

Multichain for better optimization

This migration demonstrates the very purpose of our multichain approach. We are not limited by any one blockchain, and can avoid bottlenecks and other network problems. Such an approach gives us the freedom to customize HUMAN tech. If one blockchain is best for one function, and another blockchain is better for another, that is not a problem; multichain means customization,  but it also means optimization. By working with the very best blockchain projects in the space, we can offer our users the very best experience.
