HUMAN community newsletter – #22

2 min read

Hello fellow HUMANs. Welcome to another community newsletter, with the latest ecosystem goings-on. This month, we’ve continued our work on improving the core products built on top of the Protocol, and the means through which they’re accessed and experienced. This includes an overhaul of the website and core messaging, to better capture the Protocol’s offering to workers, developers, and enterprises.

Highlights

  • Website and messaging overhaul has begun, with renewed focus on the core user journeys for workers, developers, and enterprises. The new navigation features direct links to GitHub – the source of all development know-how – the HUMAN App, and the new Job Launcher beta.
  • Work on the SKALE node has been paused. We’ve transferred the value of users’ SKALE wallets to their Polygon wallets.
  • Alex Newman, HUMAN Protocol’s founder, has been conducting regular community calls, to field the community’s questions and gather feedback. The next call will take place in the second half of March, and questions can be suggested in the ask-your-question channel on Discord

Development

Launcher

  • The beta of the Job Launcher – where users can directly launch jobs to thousands of workers – has been released, with the next iteration already underway. We welcome feedback on our Discord

Dashboard

  • The design of Dashboard 2.0, with better graphs, data, and insights, is complete; now awaiting final feedback – including from a select community group – before development begins.

Other

  • Governance has been merged into the monorepo and is to be released into the HUMAN App, to enable easier community voting.
  • The first milestone of the HUMAN App’s redesign – following the new architecture – has been delivered.
  • All users on SKALE have been paid the same amount on their Polygon wallets, and development on the SKALE node is now paused.

Product marketing

  • A key focus this year is on helping users navigate the HUMAN ecosystem, with clear journeys that make it easier to work, launch jobs, or build on top of the Protocol. This has begun with a partial overhaul of our homepage, with simpler navigation – and messaging – that better captures the Protocol’s core offerings.

Grants

  • Work to support new applications on top of HUMAN Protocol is continuing through our Grants program, with two new promising applicants. More details to follow.
  • We’re currently in the process of reviewing tech specifications from Firebond.

Community

Our recent community calls have proven successful, with insightful discussions and valuable contributions from all participants. If you missed it or would like to revisit any part of the session, you can access the recording on YouTube.

The next call will take place in the second half of March, and questions can be suggested in the ask-your-question channel on Discord

Events and other news

  • Newconomics, an event series sponsored by HUMAN Protocol, held two successful events in Cape Town – hosted by Nigel and Hervé Larren, and bringing together 25 leaders from across Web2 and Web3 – and Dubai. Dubai’s event featured fireside chats with Megan Carnegie, Manoj Narender Madnani and Alex Fazel of Swissborg. There will also be an informal brunch meet-up held today, February 29th, at EthDenver.
  • Newconomics has also launched a new podcast series on Castos, with details available on the Newconomics website. The first episode – hosted by Megan Carnegie and Hervé – features insightful conversations with industry experts Alex Chehade, GM of Binance, Alex Fazel of Swissborg, and guests Rob Viglione from Horizon Labs and Jehan Chu from Kenetic Investments.
